It’s hard to believe that it has been three years since I began publishing South Fayette & Neighbors Magazine. While I had some pretty lofty goals back then, I never imagined that this wonderful magazine would lead to a thriving publishing company that would occupy my every waking and occasionally my sleeping moment.
And what better way to celebrate an anniversary than with an addition to the family? Community Magazine Publishing is happy to announce our fifth publication, which will cover Bethel Park. As a part of this increased exposure, we have had several staff changes. Astrid Cook, who has been publishing the Bethel Park community magazine, will now be editing all five of our publications. You may recognize Astrid from her days at Washington’s Observer-Reporter, where she often wrote about South Fayette and the “Little Green Machine.”
In addition to a new editor, South Fayette & Neighbors welcomes the husband and wife team, Bill and Kathy Ryan, as our new Director of Sales and Director of Marketing/Magazine Production, respectively. Bill, a lifetime resident of the South Hills, comes to us with 30 years of sales and sales management experience. Kathy’s background includes marketing, product management and account management. Rick Saulle and Gary Adams join Bill as new sales people. We are thrilled that Cathy Emanuele is joining us after years with the Bethel Park Courier.
Finally, Rebecca Bailey, Wade Massie and George Mendel join Community Magazine Publishing as our new photographers. Together Rebecca, Wade and George will provide... “thousands of words” to South Fayette & Neighbors with each of their great photos.
Of course, continuity is important, which is why I’m so pleased that Jen Deihl, our designer, and sales people, Terri Cline, Debbie Amelio-Manion and Tammy Franklin, will be continuing their long standing relationships with us. These important members of our team have remained with us to maintain the very high quality of the magazine that you, our valued readers and advertisers, have come to expect from us.
While a mother never wants to choose a favorite from among her children, I live in South Fayette and this is where it all began three years ago. During our anniversary year, I know my neighbors in South Fayette will welcome our new staff members. We are looking forward to continuing to serve the needs of the community in the upcoming months and for many years to come.
