Free Gun Locks Available
The South Fayette Police Department is offering free gun locks to South Fayette Township residents. Locks can be picked up at the South Fayette Police Department, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Limit two per household.

Wide-Awake in Bridgeville
Bridgeville is “Wide-Awake” on Thursday nights. Shops are open until 8 p.m. and we have “free” parking.

Arthritis Seminar
St. Clair Hospital’s Center for Motion Recovery and Department of Orthopedics & Rheumatology will sponsor a seminar entitled “No Bones About It,” on Tuesday, November 7 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the Fourth Floor Meeting Room. Available surgical and non-surgical treatment alternatives for arthritis will be discussed. Product demonstrations, educational materials and refreshments courtesy of Stryker Orthopaedics will also be available. Admission is free but pre-registration is required by calling St. Clair Hospital’s Public Relations Department at 1-866-248-4500, extension 1025.

Auction Elegance
Ohio Valley Hospital’s Auction Elegance will be held at the Sheraton Station Square on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 5:30 p.m. with a silent auction followed by dinner, the live auction, and dancing with Abbstract. Along with a “martini luge,” the auction will feature prizes such as get-a-way weekends, sports items and memorabilia, jewelry, furniture, tickets to cultural and sporting events, children’s toys, gift baskets, golf packages and more. Open Wrestling Practices
New South Fayette Junior High Wrestling Head Coach Mark Angle & Assistant Coach Jason McGregor are holding open wrestling room practices on Wednesdays starting on Oct. 25 after school from 3-5 p.m. All interested kids are invited to the practices regardless of what age or grade they are in.

Bag of Books Sale
The Friends of the Bridgeville Public Library will hold A Bag of Books Sale on the first Saturdays in November and December at the Used Book Store Basement at 523 Washington Avenue in Bridgeville. Bags are $3.00 each and can be filled with your choice of hard and paperback.

Books are available in an assortment of subjects including history, travel, and biographies and children’s books. For more information, call 412-257-8042.

Pittsburgh Light-Up Night
Pittsburgh Light-Up Night in is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 17. For over four decades,
Light-Up Night has been the official start to the holiday season in Pittsburgh by turning all
of downtown into a giant celebration for an entire evening of fun for all ages.

Breakfast in Bethlehem
Holy Child Catholic is hosting “Breakfast in Bethlehem” on Dec. 9 at 9:30 am in Holy Child Catholic's School cafeteria. PreK and Kindergarten children can come dressed as someone who may have been there when Jesus was born. After breakfast they will help to read and show the story of the Nativity. Santa in McDonald
Santa will be arriving via fire truck again this year to the McDonald community on Dec. 9 from 2-5 p.m. at the McDonald Trail Station on South McDonald St. There will be free photos taken with each child and Santa, along with music,decorations, refreshments and gifts for the kids.
